Buckhead is home to Lenox Square and Phipps Plaza, two upscale destinations that contribute to the community’s nickname as the Beverly Hills of the South — or the East, depending on which state is coining the term.
Buckhead also offers art galleries on Bennett Street, the Atlanta History Center and dining at chef-driven, innovative restaurants. For making musical memories, the Chastain Park Ampitheatre has become an Atlanta tradition. Home of the Delta Classic Chastain series during the summer months, the amphitheater encourages friends and family to gather in this scenic venue of oak and magnolia trees, enjoy a picnic, and listen to the pulses of fabulous talent.
The Buckhead Springs Arts and Crafts Festival, located at Chastain Park, provides displays by more than 175 artists, local bands, gourmet food trucks and activities for children of all ages.
Buckhead offers residents and visitors some of the most prestigious healthcare in the nation. Piedmont Hospital and catastrophic care hospital Shepherd Center, which specializes in spinal cord injury and acquired brain injury, are two hospitals that are adjacent to one another along Peachtree Road. Buckhead also provides easy access to physicians, clinics and outpatient care for various specialties and emergencies.
Buckhead is a major commercial and financial center of the Southeast, and it is the third-largest business district in Atlanta, following Downtown and Midtown. The district’s high-rise office buildings, hotels and condominiums form a highly urbanized core along Peachtree Road.
